How Your Hoop Helps Other Kids
Share
Hi, I’m River!
When I started Hoops for Good, I wanted to do more than just sell mini basketball hoops. I wanted every hoop to help someone else too.
That’s why for every hoop sold, $10 goes to support programs that use basketball to help kids and teens who are doing it tough.
Here’s what that actually means.
Not Every Kid Gets the Same Chance
Some kids grow up in communities where it’s harder to join a team, stay at school, or even feel included.
There might be things going on at home, or they might feel left out because of language, culture, or other stuff they can’t control.
Some kids are dealing with really hard things like trauma, mental health struggles, or just not having the support they need.
That’s Where These Programs Come In
The programs we support aren’t just about basketball.
They use the game to help kids:
- Build confidence
- Learn how to work in a team
- Feel proud of who they are
- Stay active and focused
- Dream big and believe in themselves
They also run workshops and activities that connect basketball with learning, leadership, and even job skills later on.
Focusing on Kids Who Need it Most
A lot of the focus is on Indigenous and culturally diverse communities, where sport can be a powerful way to bring people together and create new opportunities.
When someone buys a hoop, that $10 goes straight to helping those programs reach more kids.
We’ll Announce Our Charity Partner Soon
Right now, I’m talking to a charity that I really like—and once it’s all confirmed, I’ll add their name to the website so you can see exactly where the money is going.
For now, I just wanted to say thanks.
If you bought a hoop, you didn’t just get something fun to play with—you helped someone else feel included, supported, and part of something good.
